Direct Selling Software

Direct selling software is the back office of a company whose products reach the customer through independent sellers instead of shops: it keeps the sellers, their customers, the orders, the commissions and the payouts in one system. If you are a beginner in direct selling, either a company about to launch or a person about to join one, this page explains how direct selling works, what the software does and how to choose it. Daani builds and hosts direct selling software for companies in the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia and other countries, more than 100 of them, and shows it with your plan in a free demo before you buy.

Direct selling for beginners: how it works

A direct selling company sells through people. A seller, called a distributor, consultant or representative, buys or orders products from the company and sells them to customers at home parties, in person, through a personal web page or on social media, earning the retail margin. In single-level direct selling that is the whole model. In multi-level direct selling the seller also sponsors other sellers and earns a commission on their sales by the rules of a compensation plan, which is where direct selling meets network marketing and MLM. The products are usually consumables with repeat purchases: cosmetics, wellness, household goods, coffee, clothing, services. For a beginner the questions are the same on both sides: is the product worth buying without the plan, is the plan written down, and does the company's software show every sale and commission as it happens?

What direct selling software does

Hosted software or your own server

In the 1990s a direct selling company bought a server and had the software installed on it. Today the software is hosted: Daani runs it on the Daani server with SSL and daily backups, the hosting cost is included in the package price, updates are applied for the life of the subscription, and a company in any country goes live without hardware. Installation on your own server is still possible and is quoted separately. The SaaS MLM software page explains the hosted model.

Choosing direct selling software: what to decide first

  1. Single-level or multi-level. Retail margin only, or a compensation plan with team commissions. The plan decides most of the configuration; the plan comparison helps.
  2. How customers order. Shop, personal pages, party orders, subscriptions, or all of them.
  3. Countries and currencies at launch and in two years.
  4. Ready-made or customised. A ready-made package is configured in days; customised software with your own workflow and integrations is a one-time project.
  5. A demo with your own plan, not a video, before you sign.

Starting a direct selling business: the first steps

  1. Product and margin. A consumable people reorder, priced so that the seller's margin and the plan's commissions fit inside it.
  2. Plan on paper. Retail margin, team commissions if any, ranks and the payout cycle, written down before the software is configured.
  3. Legal set-up for your countries with your advisor: company registration, direct selling rules, income claims, the texts at sign-up.
  4. Software and demo. Your plan configured in the demo, a test payout run, then go-live and the first sellers.

Cost

The ready-made 4G package with the basic features costs $50 to $150 USD per month; the 5G and 6G packages with the shop and the other modules a product company needs go up to $800 per month; hosting, updates and support for as long as you are our client are included. Customised software is a one-time payment, 3,000 for the 5G package and 6,999 for the 6G, with discount offers of up to 70% from time to time. Details on the pricing page; every quote comes with a free demo.

Frequently asked questions

Is direct selling software the same as MLM software? Direct selling software covers selling through independent sellers; MLM software adds the multi-level compensation plan. Daani's software does both, so a single-level company can add levels later without changing systems.

Can a beginner company start small? Yes. Most start on the ready-made 4G package with one plan, one currency and the shop, and add modules and markets as the network grows.

Can sellers work from their phones? Yes. The back office works in any phone browser; the native app is a module.

How do I see it? Request a free demo of the direct selling software and tell us your products and plan; the demo is set up with them.
