MLM affiliate programs: how the plan is built

An MLM affiliate program starts as an affiliate program and adds depth. The usual steps:

1. Retail commission on every sale through the affiliate's link, paid at once or at the end of the period.
2. Recurring commission on subscriptions and repeat orders, for as long as the customer stays.
3. Team commission on the sales of affiliates the affiliate recruited, one or more levels deep, by a unilevel or another plan.
4. Ranks and bonuses for volume targets, which turn an affiliate network into a network marketing company.
